Delete Your Account or Data

This page explains how to delete your Iota Home account (published by Iota-Home), or how to delete the data you have saved while keeping your account open.

Option 1 — Delete your data only

Removes every mortgage scenario and portfolio adjustment you have saved. Your account stays open and you can keep using the app.

Option 2 — Delete your whole account

Removes your account and all data associated with it. This is immediate and cannot be undone.

Option 1: Delete your saved data, keep your account

  1. Open the Iota Home app, or go to iota-home.com.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Open the Account page from the menu.
  4. Under Reset Data, select Delete all scenarios.
  5. Confirm when prompted.

Every saved scenario and portfolio adjustment is deleted immediately. Your email address, sign-in method, and settings are kept so you can carry on using the app.

You can also delete individual scenarios one at a time from the scenario list, rather than clearing all of them.

Option 2: Delete your account and all associated data

  1. Open the Iota Home app, or go to iota-home.com.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Open the Account page from the menu.
  4. Scroll to Delete Account.
  5. Confirm when prompted. Deletion happens straight away.

If you no longer have the app installed

You do not need to reinstall it. Email contact@iota-home.com from the email address on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". Tell us whether you want:

  • your saved data deleted but the account kept, or
  • the account and all associated data deleted.

We verify the request comes from the account holder before acting on it, and respond within 30 days — usually far sooner.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • Your authentication record, including your email address and password hash
  • Your profile information (name and avatar, if you provided them)
  • All saved mortgage scenarios — loan amounts, rates, terms, down payments, property details, income figures, and any notes
  • All portfolio adjustments and what-if scenarios
  • Your account settings and preferences
  • Any share links you created — these stop working immediately
  • Any partner/embed workspace you own, and its live subscription is cancelled so billing stops

What is kept, and for how long

A limited set of records survives account deletion where we have a legal or operational obligation to retain them:

RecordRetention period
Billing history and invoices, if you ever paid us (held by our payment processor, Stripe)As required by tax and accounting regulations — typically 7 years
Security and audit logsRetained for security and compliance review
Aggregated usage analyticsRetained indefinitely — these contain no name, email, or identifier that could be traced back to you, and financial figures are rounded into ranges before they leave your device

Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Two accounts we cannot delete automatically

In these cases the in-app button will stop and ask you to contact us, so the deletion can be handled without breaking records that belong to other people:

  • Channel-partner agency accounts. These govern referred customer workspaces and a commission ledger, which have to be transferred or closed deliberately rather than removed as a side effect.
  • Administrator accounts. Blocked from self-deletion as a safety measure.

Email contact@iota-home.com and we will take care of it.
